A willingness to experiment?

I recently was at an exhibition of Cezanne's paintings in London and in the collection were several depictions of Montagne Sainte-Victoire. And Cezanne painted it over thirty times in oil

and in watercolor. He painted the montagne in detail and with a brevity that is inspiring.

As Cezanne's contemporary (and admirer), Vincent Van Gogh, said “What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?”

So where in your work is there room for experiment? To embellish or to simplify to find a better or different output?

Attention is borrowed from your future self

Every time you give your attention to something now, you are taking time, energy, and mental clarity away from yourself later. It doesn’t feel like that in the moment. It often feels small. harmless.
