Fear Of Messing Up

FOMU is the business brother of FOMO (fear of missing out)

When you don't want to mess up, you take fewer risks. Of course you don't say "hey I'm gonna take fewer risks, you use code words like, "proven approaches", "best practice" and (my personal favourite) "industry standard"

And when your employees are afraid to mess up, the experiments they run tend to prove an existing point as opposed to exploring new and (gasp) risky outcomes.

How is fear of messing up showing up in your life? Organization? How is FOMU impacting your life? Organization?
