Golden rule of coaching: The quieter you become, the more you can hear.

January was the month of beginnings, resolutions, or detox. So what does February hold in store for you? As a coach, I was both taught and have found that "holding your silence" is a crucial skill in letting the client drive the conversation themselves. As a leader too, silence allows the employee or colleague to provide the answer themselves. By pausing before you speak - creating a space for the other person to think longer and not directing them - you are affording them the moment in which the realization / lesson / insight can come from them - not you. And that learning lasts so much longer than when you tell them something.

So for your February, what do you think?
