The Best Things I Learned in Training: The Gallery Tour

Engage your learners in a physical setting by having them move to different parts of the room to perform tasks

Sitting around during a workshop can result in torpor among the participants and a drop in energy in the room. Most energizers involve getting up and moving about

But, too many energizers can be met with rolling eyes and half hearted

Introducing movement can be a part of the learning experience:

In a classroom setting, when groups have been working at a whiteboard or flip chart, simply ask each group to move from chart to chart, with one group presenting at their chart then the whole class moving onto the next chart / presentation until all are done.

Having been standing and moving for the duration of the activity and report out, the room is energized again

A stretch goal for this one is have groups rotate between charts adding to each chart they go to. When they return to their startring chart you can follow the process above
