Stilling the mind

Floating in body temperature super saturated salt water, in silence and darkness, is not for the claustrophobic. But turning off the input from your sight, hearing and touch senses creates a feedback loop that relaxes your body, which relaxes your mind.

An hour passes in what seems like minutes and I emerge calmer and refreshed, my mind still and rejuvenated.

As burnout is an ever present challenge I find a float session every few weeks a blessing and an escape from the “always on“ culture today.

Whether it's the Shower meditation , a breathing exercise, time in nature or a float session, taking the time to care for your wellbeing - physical, psychological or social is crucial as we all navigate the next normal (and the one after that and the one after that).

How do you look after yourself?
