I recently came across a site that allows you to send an email to your future self in five steps. Go to www.futureme.org In just a few moments you can write a note to yourself to be sent at a predetermined date or in 1, 3 or 5 years. Maybe you'll write to yourself the day you graduate, or your birthday, or anniversary. You get to choose... These are the steps:
Write the note
Choose your send date
Make your message private or public
Enter your email address and
Hit send.

On the site, public letters (anonymized) can be read, and there’s even an epilogue section where writers can reprise their original missive.
Interestingly almost every person I spoke to about this idea hesitated and then said a variation on, "I'm not sure what I want to say".
